Georgia Receives SBA Statewide Disaster Declaration, Applications for Small Business Emergency Loans Now Open.

 (Applies only to employers who employ less than 500 employees) HR 6201 passed Congress and has been  enacted into law by the President as of March 18, 2020. The effective  date is 15 days after enactment: April 2, 2020.  

Gov. Kemp, University of Georgia's SBDC Provide Overview of CARES Act Funding, including webinars. The CARES Act provides funds for SBA to aid small businesses through its network of private small business lenders. Georgia has more than 70 qualified SBA lenders.  

 “In accordance with Governor Kemp’s recommendation, the GDOL is  providing online access to unemployment services, partial claim access  for employers, and other reemployment services.” 

Through the University of Georgia Small Business Development Centers (SBDC), in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) and Department of Community Affairs (DCA), the state has launched an information website and will begin hosting webinars to provide guidance on accessing a variety of U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) programs. 

UGA Small Business Development Center is funded by the SBA and the University of Georgia, services are provided at no cost to the business owner.
